Welcome Back to term 3

As you will see if you come into Base School, we have a new school receptionist replacing Dinah who has been the face of the school for many years, and has now moved out of Auckland. All the best to Dinah, and welcome Louise.


 

Upcoming Events

  • A powhiri for new students and their families will be held at Base School on Friday 8 September, at 11am. Invitations will be sent out shortly. This is specifically for new families but all school families are very welcome to attend.


  • Information Sharing Morning tea: on Thursday 14 September, 10.00 am to 12.30 pm, at Arohanui School, Tirimoana Road.We will talk about support and pathways for your child at Arohanui.  Disability Connect will also be present to share information about their services and support, and answer any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you all there. Please phone the school office on 838 6696 or email admin@arohanui.school.nz and let them know if you are coming. 

 

  • This term we have our full school event which, for 2017, is a Science Fair. This will be held onThursday 21 September and we will be exploring the various science activities and experiments the students have been involved in. We warmly invite you, your children and the whole family to attend. More information will come out nearer the date. 

 

  • Our school ball for senior students, held in conjunction with Oaklynn Special School, will be held on Friday 22 September, at Zeal in Henderson. This is always great fun and a chance for the older students (and the staff!) to dress up.

 WOW! Thank you to the trusts community foundation ...

We warmly thank the Trusts Community Foundation for their very generous response to our recent application for funds to help fund our new playground at Glendene. They donated $50,000 to Arohanui to for this project! The work on the playground will begin later this year and we are looking forward to a wonderful outdoor area for the students at this satellite unit.
