Individual Education Plans

At Arohanui all students have an IEP.  The IEP is fundamental to the support of our students.  The IEP outlines the student's educational goals for the year.  It is a systematic approach used by the 'key stakeholders' to identify the full range of needs of students

What is an Individual Education Plan (IEP)
  • An IEP is a means of identifying and prioritising learning outcomes for individual students
  • It is a concise and usable summary of the student's educational programme
  • It is a tool for collaborative planning between the school, the parents/caregivers, and the student ( where appropriate) and other agencies as necessary
  • It is a commitment to supporting the student to achieve identified goals
  • It is a tool for tracking individual student learning in terms of agreed goals and objectives
  • It is a summary of teaching strategies and the specialist resources required to implement the programme effectively
Who is involved in the IEP
  • The student
  • Parents/caregivers
  • Class teacher
  • Teacher Aides
