This is a permanent full time position to begin on 26 July 2021. This role involves a varied caseload, working collaboratively with teachers, whanau, therapists and teacher aides to enhance the learning outcomes for our students.

Arohanui School is a large progressive special school based in West Auckland. We cater for students aged 5 to 21 years with intellectual and associated disabilities. Our students are educated in a range of settings including a base school, satellite classes and our community based centre for post 18 year olds. We offer a friendly, professional work environment and opportunities for professional growth.

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well to learners with disabilities and their families and whanau

  • The ability to consult and set priorities while considering the needs of all stakeholders

  • The capacity to work within classrooms to establish effective collaborative practice and to meet both group and individual goals

  • The ability to work within a transdisciplinary team.
