This is a permanent full time position to begin as soon as possible in term 3. This role involves a varied caseload, working collaboratively with teachers, whanau, therapists and teacher aides to enhance the learning outcomes for our students.
Arohanui School is a large progressive special school based in West Auckland. We cater for students aged 5 to 21 years with intellectual and associated disabilities. Our students are educated in a range of settings including a base school, satellite classes and our community based centre for post 18 year olds. The ideal applicant will have:
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well to learners with disabilities and their families and whanau
The ability to consult and set priorities while considering the needs of all stakeholders
The capacity to work within classrooms to establish effective collaborative practice and to meet both group and individual goals
The ability to work within a transdisciplinary team.
